Spectrum Art Gallery

Spectrum Art Gallery was founded in 1979 as a not-for-profit outgrowth of a local photography store, gallery, and rental dark room. Since then it has grown from a small cluster of members to more than 140 active, student, and supporting members.

In 2003, Spectrum became recognized as a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation and in late 2007 moved to our present location at 608 E. Olive Avenue in Fresno. This newer site allows us to serve our community more effectively and attracts a large audience.

Spectrum Gallery's mission is to advance photography as an art form; foster understanding and support for those who create, enjoy, and collect photography; and offer an accessible community space for activities and programs to meet the photographic community's needs. All levels of photographic interest are welcomed to its membership.

Spectrum also offers supplemental educational programs and workshops. It provides a forum for the discussion of photography related media as a means of creative expression and cultural insight and serves as a vital resource for the region.
